Expanding Healthcare Access for Young Key Populations in Lagos

AHRDI Hosts Healthcare Workshop Under the VIBES Project

Access to Health and Rights Development Initiative (AHRDI) recently organized a training workshop for community healthcare workers, peer counselors, and mental health professionals on providing youth-friendly services for adolescents and young key populations (AYKPs) in Lagos State. 

The training equiped participants with knowledge and skills to provide youth-friendly services; to engage AYKPs and facilitate the use of the VIBES Project
website and risk assessment system. Participants reviewed the virtual and social media platforms which will provide HIV education, referal to testing, care and treatment services; and provided feedback. This initiative, conducted under the VIBES Project, aims to break barriers to healthcare access and ensure inclusive, youth-friendly service delivery across Lagos State.

The project will continue to equip service providers and community-based organizations (CBOs) with the skills to effectively reach adolescents and young key populations (KPs) through virtual healthcare solutions.

✅ Next Steps: Development of an action plan to integrate telehealth services into existing healthcare programs for key populations.
